Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies.
I’m always surprised by those people who don’t know common logical fallacies. You would be surprised how much they come up in everyday life. Think about how many of the arguments you hear in your personal life are based on anecdotes. I’ve had someone sit across a table from me eating dinner tell me how cell phone radiation causes cancer because he saw a picture of a guy with a big tumor on the side of his face right where he held the cell phone. I also knew someone who was bummed out when she heard that her friend was having a girl because she thought that somehow made it less likely that she would have a girl.
If you don’t get why these are quite bad arguments or simply silly, go study logical fallacies. You will be glad you did.
